Laurent Dubroca | EMODnet OPEN SEA LAB

Laurent is a marine ecologist with a keen interest in statistics. He has varied experiences in different institutions and research institutes dedicated to marine ecology. With a background in Marine Ecology (PhD) and Applied Mathematics (MSc), Laurent collected some intermediate degrees in Marine Geology, Physical Oceanography and Computing Sciences. He has a particular interest in messy data related to the marine environment, and some capabilities to analyse them. He loves to cite JP Benzecri to explain his sincere enthusiasm in data analysis: "a tool to extract from the gangue of the data the pure diamond of truthful nature." Besides this, he can spend time collecting data onboard fishing vessels or elsewhere, or building data logger using open source platform.
